Group Meeting: The children brought their favorite books to school. They took turns telling the title of the book and why they liked the book. We had quite a variety of books!
Story: The story for today was The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle. This was a book that we didn't get to read during Eric Carle week. In this story, a spider is busy spinning a web. Her animal friends what to play with her, but she is too busy. At the end of the story, the spider finishes the web and catches the pesty fly that has been bothering all of the animals in the book.
Large Group: The children did a relay race with the books that we have read during this special month. Every child was given a book. They had to race to the other side of the room and put it on a chair according to the author's picture. When all of the books were in place, we checked them to make sure they were in the right place. I was amazed! The children were able to sort the books by author with only one or two mix-ups.
Snacks: The children enjoyed Papa Murphy's cheese pizza! The morning class celebrated with Mrs. Smith's class. The afternoon class celebrated with Mrs. Lehenbauer's class.
