Group Meeting: Tomorrow, we will be celebrating our accomplishment of reading 2000 books by the end of April. The children have been asked to bring their favorite book to school. We will eat pizza and read books.
Small Groups: During our Small Group time, we remembered the author/illustrators that we learned about in April and made lists of the books that they had written. I was very surprised at how well the children could remember the names of the books that we had read.
Story: The story for today was Wild About Books by Judy Sierra. A librarian mistakenly drives her bookmobile to the zoo. The animals soon get very excited about reading books and writing their own stories. They build their own library so that children and animals can check out books to read. Ask your child to tell you some of the books that are mentioned in this story.
Large Group: The children moved to the music The Elephant by Hap Palmer. The children listen to the music and move slowly when the rhythm is slow and quickly when the rhythm is fast.
Snacks: The morning snack was crackers, apples, peanut butter, and milk brought by Addy. The afternoon snack was grapes, cheese crackers, and milk brought by Brooklyn. Thank you, Addy and Brooklyn!
