Group Meeting:  We are half way to our goal of 2000 books!  By this afternoon, we had 1030 books read.

Small Groups:  I read the story The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog by Mo Willems.  In this story, Pigeon finds a hot dog and shares it with Ducking.  Following the story, we made Pigs in a Blanket.  The children wrapped biscuit dough around a half of a hot dog.  We put them in the oven to be ready in time for snack time.

Story:  At story time, I read Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late by Mo Willems.  It's time for bed, but Pigeon says he's not tired.  The bus driver has asked us to make sure that he goes to bed on time.  Ask your child to tell you how Pigeon tries to convince us to let him stay up late.  Knuffle Bunny makes an appearance in this book as well.

Large Group:  The children watched a short video about plant parts that went along with our Let's Find Out Magazine.  The morning class children took the magazine home today so that they can finish the back page.  The afternoon class will receive it on Monday.

Letter Learning:  The letter for today was Uu.  This finishes our third time through the alphabet.  On Monday will be will starting to look at how letters form words.

Snacks:  The children ate the Pigs in a Blanket that they made during Small Group time.  Ketchup and mustard were available.  We also had juice and birthday brownies.
