Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a variety of things to do today for Valentines Day.   We started by dancing to "If You're a Kid: Valentine Love".  Next, we made Valentine flowers to take the residents of Senior Star.  The children used paper hearts, paper fasteners and straws to assemble the flowers.  After the flowers were finished, we practiced the songs that we were going to sing.

The children opened the Valentines that they had brought for each other.  They did a good job of reading each other's names or at least figuring out the first letter of each name.  After that, they wanted some play time, so we had 15 minutes to choose any activity.

When play time was over, we made Valentine Quesadillas.  The children had tortilla shells that had a heart imprinted in the middle.  They filled the shells with cheese and took turns bringing them to the griddle so that the cheese would melt.  Salsa was available for those who wanted to dip them.

The children sang beautifully at Senior Star.  It's always nice to see the smiles on the faces of the residents.  Several residents asked if we could come again.  Thank you, adults for taking the time to transport the children and support their singing!

No School on Monday due to Presidents Day.  We'll be back on Tuesday and hopefully have no more snow days!
