Group Meeting:  Today was Toy Tuesday.  The writing and drawing table has a new mailbox and a name and picture book.  The children can make letters and cards for each other by finding a friends name in the picture book, print the name on the paper, draw a picture and/or write words, and put it in the mailbox.  The King or Queen for the day will be the mail carrier who will deliver the notes to the cubbies.

Small Groups:  The children have been learning about syllables in words.  Today, they completed a paper in which they had to count the syllables in animal words. 

Story:  The book that we read together was Signs by Tara Hoban.  This was not a story book.  It was a book full of pictures of signs.  The children had to figure out what the sign was about by reading the words and looking at the pictures and symbols.  They also used the color of the sign to determine if it meant stop or warning.

Large Group:  The children completed an obstacle course of a balance beam, stepping stones, a tunnel, and a tumbling mat.

Letter Learning:  The letter for the morning class was Dd.  The afternoon class is on the letter Jj.

Snacks:  The snack for the morning class was muffins, carrots, and juice brought by Jai.  The afternoon snack was pretzels and juice brought by Kinley.  Thank you, Jai and Kinley!

Tomorrow is Pajama Day.  The children may wear their pajamas to school.  If it is a snow day tomorrow, we will wear pajamas on Thursday.
