Group Meeting:  This week, we are going to start learning about Thanksgiving.  We started by doing the Turkey Freeze Dance.

Small Groups:  The activities for this week are listed below along with the schedule for today.
Activity #1 (Red Group)  The children played a Thanksgiving version of Shape Bingo.  They had to identify or match a circle, square, triangle, star, heart, and diamond (rhombus).
Activity #2  (Yellow Group)  The children matched Unifix cubes to colored turkeys on a paper.  Then, they stacked the colors that matched to discover how many turkeys they had of each color.
Activity #3  (Green Group)  The children listened to the story  The Letters Are Lost and answered questions about the book.  This is part of the Read It Again curriculum.

Story:  The story for today was Thanks for Thanksgiving by Julies Markes.  This book beautifully illustrates things for which we are thankful, especially at Thanksgiving time.

Large Group:  Following our story, the children helped me make of list of things for which we are thankful.  After that, each child was given a paper feather.  They drew pictures of some of the things from our list.  The feathers were added to a large turkey that is on display in the hallway.

Letter Learning:  The letter for today was Tt.

Snacks:  The snack for the morning class was cheese sticks, granola bars, and juice brought by James.  The afternoon class had Paw Patrol grahams and milk brought by John.  Thank you, James and John!
