Group Meeting: For Where is it Wednesday, I hid little turkeys around the room with letters printed on them. The children had to find a turkey and match the letter on it to the letters on our rug. Then, we put the turkeys together in alphabetic order.
Small Groups: The activities for this week are listed in Monday's post. The schedule for today was:
Activity #1 Green Group
Activity #2 Red Group
Activity #3 Yellow Group
Story: The story for today was Last Stop on Market Street by Matt De La Pena. Every Sunday after church, CJ and his grandma ride the bus across town.
But today, CJ wonders why they don't own a car like his friend Colby.
Why doesn’t he have an iPod like the boys on the bus? How come they
always have to get off in the dirty part of town? Each question is met
with an encouraging answer from grandma, who helps him see the
beauty—and fun—in their routine and the world around them. At the end of the story, CJ and his nana are serving food at a soup kitchen. We used this book to discuss the purpose of our field trip tomorrow.
Large Group: The children went to the Outdoor Classroom.
Letter Learning: The letter for today was Xx.
Snacks: The morning class had cheese sticks, Chez-its, and juice brought by Malia S. The afternoon class had Paw Patrol grahams and juice brought by Landon. Thank you, Malia and Landon!
We will be going to the food pantry tomorrow. The children will arrive at school at the usual time. Adults are asked to come at 9:50 for the AM class and 1:35 for the PM class.
