Group Meeting:  The children reviewed what we had learned at the food pantry.  They helped me make of list of things that they remembered from the trip.

Small Groups:  During small group time, the children drew pictures in their Writing Journals of things that they remembered from our field trip.

Story:  The story for today was Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Pilkey.  This is the story of a class of children that are on a field trip with their teacher.  They discover a small turkey farm along the way.  They meet the turkeys and play with them in the farm yard.  One student notices an ax by the barn door and asks the farmer about it.  When they find out what is in store for the turkeys, they become very upset.  The farmer runs to get them a drink of water, but when he returns, the turkeys are gone.  Ask your child to tell you what happened to the turkeys.

Large Group:  The children assembled paper turkeys using circles, triangles and rectangles.

Letter Learning:  The letter for today was Yy.  We have completed the entire alphabet.  Next week, we will begin again, this time learning them in alphabetical order.

Snacks:  The morning class had Belvita breakfast biscuits and milk brought by Meier.  The afternoon class had french toast sticks, applesauce and milk brought by Siler.  Thank you, Meier and Siler!
