Group Meeting: The children were given to opportunity to share what they would be doing for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Small Groups: The children watched a video about the first Thanksgiving. This coordinated with our Let's Find Out magazine that we completed at the table. The children had to cut and staple the magazine together before coloring.
Story: The story for today was Who Will Carve the Turkey This Thanksgiving? It is Thanksgiving Day and the turkey needs to be carved. Who will do
the job? A killer whale, or a saber-toothed tiger, or a Tyrannosaurus
rex? None of those seem quite right. So who will carve the turkey this
Thanksgiving? Ask your child to tell you.
Large Group: The children watched a portion of Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving. It's always fun to see if Charlie Brown is going to get to kick the football. Then the children danced to "Turkey Time".
Letter Learning: Since we have completed the first round of the alphabet, the children did "Lettercise". This is a song in which we use our boxing skills to punch in the air while saying and letter and it's sound. Ask your child to tell you what happened to the Chicka Chicka, Boom Boom tree.
Snacks: The morning class had bagels, strawberry cream cheese, and juice brought by Monroe. The afternoon class had apples, peanut butter, and milk brought by Stella. Thank you, Monroe and Stella!
Happy Thanksgiving!
