We had to cancel classes this morning due to a plumbing issue.  When I got to the preschool this morning, the drinking fountain in the hallway was putting out a small stream of water.  I jiggled the handle to make it stop.  That caused the fountain to shoot water straight up into the air and all over the floor.  To make it worse, nothing that I did would make it stop.  It didn't take long for the floor to be covered in water.  I scrambled to find buckets to catch the water until I could get to the water shut off valve.  Unfortunately, the only way to make the water stop was to shut off water to the whole building.  Without water to wash, flush, and run the dishwasher, we could not hold classes for the morning.  The plumber came and took the fountain apart to find the valve inside so that only the fountain could be shut off.  The water was turned back on and we were able to have afternoon class.  Thank you morning parents for being so understanding!

For the afternoon class:

Group Meeting:  The author for this week is Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.  We watched a video about Dr. Seuss that went with a Let's Find Out Magazine.  The children are bringing the magazine home today to be completed with a parent.

Small Groups:  We are making final plans for the Art Show.   Things are starting to look really pretty around here!

Story:  I read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.  This is the story of Sam I Am who does not want to eat green eggs and ham.  Will he eat them in a boat, with a goat?  Will he eat them with a fox, in a box?  Most of the children had heard this story before and helped me to fill in the rhyming words.

Large Group:  The children played a game with the parachute taking turns running underneath as the other children held it up.

Snacks:  The snack was Goldfish and juice brought by Anaya.  Thank you, Anaya!
