Group Meeting:    Being the last day of February, the children will be taking their Math Journals home.  There may be a few pages in the journal that did not get completed due to the days of school that we missed.  These can be done at home.  March starts a new month.  Hopefully, the weather will be better.

Small Groups:  Following a video about germs, the children completed their Let's Find Out magazine about keeping germs contained so that we don't spread sickness to each other.

Story:  The story for today was Stone Soup; An Old Story as told by Marcia Brown.  This is the story of three soldiers who are returning home from the war.  They are hungry and are hoping to stop in the village to get something to eat and a place to sleep.  However, the villagers know that they are coming and are afraid that they will take all of their food.  So, they hide everything that they have.  When the soldiers arrive, the ask for something to eat.  When villagers tell them that they have nothing, the soldiers decide to make stone soup.  They boil some water and add the stones.  The soup would taste better with carrots.  Amazingly, one of the villagers has carrots.  The soup would taste better with cabbage.  Another villager has cabbage.  The soldiers outwit the villagers to get everything that they need to make a delicious soup that they all can share.

Large Group:  The children participated in a rely race in which they had to run to the other side of the room, pick a ball that matches their team color and return it to the team bucket.

Letter Learning:  The letter for the morning class was Zz.  The afternoon letter was Ff.

Snacks:  The morning snack was Cheez-its, grapes, and milk brought by Monroe.  The afternoon snack was banana bread, applesauce and milk brought by Zenie.  Thank you, Monroe and Zenie!
