Group Meeting: For Toy Tuesday, I demonstrated something new that we received for the light table. We have a new set of pictures of animals and people. If you place them on the light table, you can see their skeleton. The children enjoyed seeing the bones of the animals, especially some of the more unusual ones like a snake and owl.
Small Groups: The activities for this week are listed in yesterday's post. The schedule for today was:
Activity #1 Yellow Group
Activity #2 Green Group
Activity #3 Red Group
Story: The story for today was A Grand Old Tree by Mary Newell. This story follows the life span of a tree from seedling, to blossom, fruit, and death. Even when the tree falls and dies, it serves a purpose of providing a home for raccoons and centipedes. The apples that it produces provide seeds so that it can sprout new seedlings.
Large Group: The children participated in an obstacle course. They had to run around cones, throw beanbags at a target, and balance on stepping stones.
Letter Learning: The letter for today was Gg.
Snacks: The morning snack was cheese sticks, Goldfish and juice brought by Jackson. Thank you, Jackson. The afternoon snack was graham crackers and juice.
