Group Meeting:  For Method Monday, I demonstrated an art method that the children can use at the art table during play time.  For this art activity, the children select a color of paper they would like to use.  They fold the paper in half.  Next, they open the paper and squeeze drops of paint all over the paper using any colors that they like.  When they are finished with the paint, they close the paper again and rub the paper to mix the colors inside.  When they are finished, they open the paper to reveal a beautiful symmetrical painting.

Small Groups:  The activities for this week are listed below as well as the schedule for today.
Activity #1 (Red Group) The children drew things that they love in their writing journal.  They could use words to label the items that they draw.
Activity #2 (Yellow Group) The children measured flowers with candy hearts as their unit of measurement.  The printed the correct numeral under each flower.
Activity#3  (Green Group) The children listened to the story Mouse Count by Ellen Stoll Walsh  and answered questions about the story.

Story:  The story for today was Hugs and Kisses by Christophe Loupy.  Early one morning, Hugs the puppy goes out into the barnyard to search for something.  He visits with the farm animals and asks them a question.  Please ask your child to tell you what Hugs asks the animals to do and what he is trying to find out.

Large Group:  The children from the Green Group brought items for Show and Tell.

Letter Learning:  The afternoon class finished with the letter Zz today.  We are now ready to go through the alphabet again.

Snacks:  The morning class snack was Goldfish and juice brought by Emmett W.  The afternoon snack was cheese sticks, applesauce, and juice brought by Jayce.  Thank you, Emmett and Jayce!
