Group Meeting:  After missing so many days last week, we started out by getting reacquainted.  The children took turns discussing what they did at home when we couldn't be at school.

Small Groups:  The activities for this week are listed below along with the schedule for today.
Activity #1 (Red Group) The children helped me fill in the missing rhyming words to sentences that I had written.  Then they matched rhyming word picture cards.
Activity #2 (Yellow Group)  The children made heart decorations with diffusing paper and liquid watercolor.  They will be displayed in our windows when dry.
Activity #3 (Green Group) The children listened to the story The Way I Feel by Janan Cain and answered questions.  This is part of the Read It Again program.

Story:  The story for today was A Very Special Snowflake by Don Hoffman.  Jeff and Veronica get a new dog.  They name him Snowflake because he is white.  When they take him outside to play, Snowflake gets lost in the snow.  The children ask the neighbors if they can find Snowflake.  They see lots of snowflakes, but don't understand that the children are looking for the dog.  Ask your child to tell you how they find Snowflake.

Large Group:  The children used paint and construction paper to make a decorated heart for the Valentine boxes that they have brought or will be bringing to school.

Letter Learning:  The letter for today was Xx.

Snacks:  The snack for the morning class was granola bars and juice brought by Arlo.  The afternoon snack was bananas, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and milk brought by Carson, and strawberrries brought by Brooklyn.  Thank you, Arlo, Carson, and Brooklyn!
